Touch Sense / Color-Change Fabric

This touch sense / color change fabric is composed of both a conductive yarn and a thermochromic yarn. This functional fabric acts as a soft interface that can be programmed to change the color of specific areas to create different patterns or animations.

The inherent conductive properties allow it to act as a switch, so it can control itself by recognizing either a single touch, long press and/or directional swipe. The fabric can also be remote controlled by using a WiFi module. This prototype is powered by a LiPo battery, that can provide up to 7 hours’ consistent support. A solar panel could be substituted for the battery allowing it to work day and night.
